What I learned in Boating School is...
What it means to be a student again. Navigating deadlines, figuring out the best place to park, and still no luck on finding good coffee on campus yet. How is week four already over!? Well so far I’m happy to report that I’ve made friends, somehow accidentally became the vice president of my school's photography club, and picked up some helpful course material along the way. Who knew you could double click on the little triangle part of your slider in Lightroom and it would reset that slider automatically? Anyways, we’re well into the Ber months which means spooky season, booking mini sessions, reworking my social media strategies and overall deciding what I want my new “9-5” schedule to look like. The wins so far have been building a community around me, building sustainable business practices, and my personal favorite watching the Sunday scaries disappear. I’ve officially turned in my first photography assignment. We were asked to take photos of specific lighting situations, e.g silhouetted etc. It’s been very interesting shooting for an assignment and having to think about which specific criteria I need to account for. It feels very very backwards in my brain still. Although I am really enjoying all of my classes so far. I’m grateful for this new chapter I’ve entered into, and although I know it will come with its own unique challenges, I’m confident that I’ve got the right resources around me to help me take them on, one by one.
